Butterflies Pre-School
Our Butterflies Pre-school Room is based in our porta-cabins. Our pre-school has a strong team of qualified and experienced staff; Danielle, who has a BA in Childhood Studies and Hannah a qualified Early Years Teacher. Danielle and Hannah are supported by a team of experienced Level 3 Nursery Nurses to offer quality and meaningful educational experiences for the children.
Our preschool is the start of the process of preparing each child for school by providing a more structured daily experience of nursery life. Stimulating activities are planned to encourage understanding through logic, reasoning and free thought which further develops social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills within each child’s ability. Although the pre-school children have a more structured day, music-time, story-time, outdoor play, imaginary play, free play and messy and creative play are still an essential part of the daily routine. Through purposeful play we encourage children to develop their mark making skills in literacy and numeracy, imaginative play and many more play experiences.
We also endeavour to provide children with a variety of opportunities during their time in preschool. We have weekly visits from the music man, who sings new songs and brings in interesting instruments from around the world alongside bus trips; train rides; visits to the local area to link with learning such as the memorial for Remembrance Day; visits to nursing homes; working in partnership with the local Church. These experiences provide children with the essential knowledge to prepare them for their future, as well as giving them memories that will last throughout their lives.
