Partnership with Parents
We understand and regard partnerships with parents and carers to be of the utmost importance to the welfare of the children. When a child joins up we like to gain as much information about your child as possible to ensure that we can make this new experience happy, safe and enjoyable for all concerned. We have an open door policy to welcome parents and carers to spend time with their child or to speak to their child’s key worker.
Children about to start nursery are encouraged to have settling in sessions before starting, we recommend parents staying with their child during these visits to help them to settle.
All children have a record of their progress and achievement recorded at Wisbech Day Nursery via their interactive online Tapestry learning journal. Parents and carers are welcome to view this at any time and add photographs by entering their unique password. A copy of this information is given to the parents or carers when the child leaves us. This is often a useful resources to share with your child’s Reception Teacher when they start School.
Along with the Tapestry learning journal all children under 3 years old are provide a daily record sheet of meals, sleep, nappies / toileting so parents and carers can have an understanding of their child’s day.
We have regular “Stay and Play” sessions and Parents Evenings, please see the Parents Notice Board of forthcoming dates.
